The clothes and some other things were off for the time period.  But the characters and story were excellent.

It's about Alys, a girl defying her sister's wish to match her to a man she does not want.  She goes on the full moon to the Foxe Ring.  (Legend says that if a man kisses you at midnight in the full moon, you are married.)  Alys believes this legend.  A man comes at midnight as he journeys to claim his rightful claim on his father's property.  He has been close to death by a stepmother and her son, who are in pursuit to stop him.  What a great adventure.  Alys follows him and shows great maturity.  She saves his life from infection by finding tree people and his grandfather.  She could be imprisoned if she goes to the king, but she shows courage and love, and goes anyway.

I love this book, but gave it 4 stars because of errors in the time period.
