Stewart O'Nan is not for everyone. His books are about ordinary people and their delights and failings. Very quotidian concerns. I loved Henry and his long time wife, Emily, their interactions and concerns for their family over a year in their life. A prequel to Wish You Were Here and Emily, Alone.
