I was hoping for
something a bit more, I dunno, lyrical perhaps. This was pretty academic
at times and making the text seem very scientific rather dulls the
subject. But it is a natural history not only of the
process of rain and its effects - floods, rainforests, etc. but also its
impact upon civilizations all the way to global warming and sea level
issues today. Very good for an environmental history, just not as
inspiring as I hoped.
