A sort of newer style themed Ripley's Believe It or Not, just minus the cartoons. Detailing odd events, people, customs and circumstances in the Roman empire during its glory days, organized by subject and told directly from each source (which are cited below the passages). Had a good deal of somewhat common tidbits - persons giving birth or pretending to play dead to escape Nero's plays - as well as the more obscure - Claudius uncontrollably giggling at the thought of a obese man breaking his chair, etc. A well balanced selection overall and a few things to interest mostly anyone.
