10 Million Aliens: A Journey Through the Entire Animal Kingdom

Author: Simon Barnes
Stars: 2
Review by: MandyApgar

An account of the speciation and evolution of several groups and specific species. Nowhere near 10 million actually, as the author tends to focus on the odd and eclectic. (Beetles really do comprise 25% of species though.) His writing style does fit that, being rather zippy and all, but with so much to cover he says very little of substance. Even less so granted the text size, so large to be almost distracting. The book should've had a normal font size and been at least 100 pages longer to get a more general coverage.
