Stars: 3
Review by: Mandy Apgar
This is one in the darkly themed folklore collections
edited by San Souci. One of the better ones, it eschews most of the
stupid urban legends that the latter ones tend to feature strongly. And
the illustrations aren't that bad, granted it's a book
mostly for juniors. Each section has a drawing or two so one should
expect them to be of quality. But a lot of the stories are obscure,
which I tend to like, and are retold in nice ways.
