The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks

Author: Rebecca Skloot
Stars: 2
Review by: Mich D

The basic story is an interesting one - the cells of a poor woman were taken from her cancerous body and have been used to cultivate cells in culture, leading to advances in medicine and science.  Her family, though, didn't know the whole story until the author tracked down more info.  Seems like it should be a better book.

Read this a while ago but agree that it could have been a better read but it makes for a nice end of the year reading assignment for my bio classes along with the Tuskegee experiments.
