Star Island

Author: Carl Hiaasen
Stars: 3
Review by: Mary NK

While mediocre pop singer Cherry recovers from yet another bout of "indigestion"; Ann, the stunt double hired by Cherry Pie's mother to fool the press, is kidnapped by a persistent (but mistaken) paparazzo, then rescued by Skink, former Florida governor-turned-ecologist-swamp-dweller. Throw in a 7' bodyguard with a weedwacker for a prosthesis, and identical (after numerous surgeries) twin publicists; and you're off on another wacky Hiaasen adventure.

Read this a while ago and was entertained as always. It seems so unreal, it feels like it could be non-fiction.
