POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT: I'm so glad in the end of the book he got the guy he wanted.

What I really like about this book is that it doesn't follow the same format of other GLBTQ books in that being gay is not portrayed as a crisis. Rather, in this groundbreaking book, it is just another difference adding to the social fabric of a community. I thought the characterizations were very well done. However, some readers will find the Utopian community described to be unbelievable. Fans of this book will also enjoy the more realistic Geography Club by Brent Hartinger.
