IT WAS AN AMAZING BOOK, i dont understand how a mother could do that to her own son though.

This, as well as its follow up, is one of the best memoirs I have ever read. You really get a sense of how destructive mental illness combined with child abuse can be and how it follows people into adulthood. However, there have been reports that some of the situations in the book were exaggerated. Despite that controversy, I think this is one of the best books about living through childhood abuse out there and is a must read!

A Child Called "It" is not a book I would recommend for young kids, but for young adults and up. At times this book can be hard to read on, because it is so hard to understand what kind of mother would do this, but it is so worth it to read it; something that will inspire you to live your life to the fullest and appreciate everything that you have. I enjoyed this book and hope other people would read it to see what kind.
