D-Day as seen through the
eyes of the French. Emma is the main protagonist who keeps the occupied
village together by supplying them with small things which are
forbidden. The items signify hope for the villagers
while Emma herself has no hope. I appreciated the viewpoint from the
French villagers. I did not always care for Emma. It breaks my heart to
know that people lived through such terrifying times.
