| Lavishly illustrated, impeccably referenced, this is a complete history of the City of New York from its inception until 1999 when this was published as a companion to the PBS television series. For me it was the best book I have ever read. In my lifetime NYC went from a place to avoid at all costs to a magnet attracting young professionals again. You learn the many cycles that the city experienced and how it always comes back again. |
