I hadn't read anything by
Barry in years as it seemed to me like he lost his touch, but here he was
back to basics - Florida, oh Florida. Whether it be investigating a
senior living community with a swinging sex culture,
chasing after the elusive skunk ape, getting pressured into buying his
wife a sponge (the real, formerly dead, kind), and visiting several
other varied and penny flattening roadside attractions -and places that
ought to be- he has a decent sense of timing
again, with good interaction between himself and his subjects, and the
sense to pick a variety of places to visit.
