Stars: 4
Review by: Mandy Apgar
As guides go,
this is certainly one of the better ones. Normally I do not buy these as
I find them overly flashy and loaded with incorrect data but I didn't
see an error in this and the subject was treated
totally with respect but not too overly somber. It was published in
house more or less, 149 pages of very fine quality with battlefield
charts, persons of interest, firearms in the field, all sorts of things
that you could think of. The only thing that knocks
this from a 5 is that they gave really funny times as indicators for how
long to spend at certain sites, and having been at Gettysburg many
times I can say that most of them made no sense. Way too long or way too
short and quite a few major places one should
see were left out on the tour timeline (but not in the book itself,
which despite the size is very comprehensive).
