Let's face one thing square on - do we really need another book
on this? Can anything else be said? Not in this, that's for darn sure.
And that is sort of part of the problem. For all the trumpeting the
jacket makes of new illuminations, of making old prejudices clear, all
the book does is just tell the story all over again. Which she does
well, do not get me wrong - quite well actually. In terms of the
witchcraft hysteria this is certainly one of the better written accounts
out there, which is a shame granted with how all the posturing on the
cover makes it sound like it could have been better.
