A century spanning history of the Wildwood area (and the beach
towns of coastal NJ) from about the 1880s to roughly the 80s. Although
Wildwood is mostly the focus, several other towns and areas are covered
as well. Focusing on the region's noted amusements, it covers well the
history leading to its establishment as an entertainment mecca. Things
go fairly well til the 50s, at which part the book has a tendency to
gloss over the bad to over emphasize the good. Little is mentioned of
changes in later society, and the book ends very abruptly with almost
nothing from the last decades of history (it was written in 98).
