I have had this book on my shelf for quite awhile. I was
inspired to read it by a recent Holocaust anniversary program. It is
about a little known WWII event. The island of Guernsey, in the English
channel was occupied by the Germans. This book takes clever form of a
series of letters following their lives in and about the island, in
1946, shortly after the end of the war. It was an easy read, pleasant
stories, interspersed with the horrors of the war they had just lived
through.
