Christina Dodd has not disappointed me yet. The beginning of the book is like an old Audrey Hepburn movie. The gardener's daughter comes home fro Paris. She is beautiful, well-educated, and still in love with Ellery, the second son, but later falls in love with the master of the house, Garrick. That's where the similarity to the movie stops. There are spies, espionage, and kidnapping of the master's daughter. Lady Hyacinth gets Ellery, as was meant to be, and Standhope got shot by Celeste. Garrick claims his love for Celeste and they plan to marry to join their love.
