After I finished The Paris Wife (the story of Ernest Hemingway's
first wife, Hadley, and their life in Paris and Spain during the 1920s)
I decided to read Hemingway's novel dedicated to Hadley, about the fast
life in Spain during the bull fight season and festivals. The Sun
Also Rises is loosely autobiographical and tells the story of a writer
during his vacation in Pamplona, Spain with his small group of friends
and their love of wine, lust, jealousies and bull fights. I enjoyed
this book more then I might have because I became more familiar with
Hemingway's life and character in The Paris Wife.
