Disaster indeed. An account of a Scots colony outside the Isthmus of
Panama in 1698-1700 that had some extremely bad misfortune in terms of
invasion, disease, and numerous shipwrecks carrying intended residents
or relief supplies for them. It was so, so incredibly dull and spent way
too much time in the background of individuals concerned, over 100
pages. By then there wasn't enough space left to really account for what
happened without making the book overly large and the last half just
seemed too rushed.
