Pope John XXIII

Author: Thomas Cahill
Stars: 5
Review by: nanibev

This book starts with a history of the papacy, highlighting the actions of several of the most influential Popes.

It then provides a study of the life and career of Angelo Giuseppe Roncalli prior to his election as the 258th leader of the Roman Catholic Church.  Cahill presents a study of the papacy of John, the kind of Pope he was, his plans and dreams for the ecumenical council that he called, and what happened after his death.
John XXlll's life and papacy are truly an inspiration and source of hope for the future.

So worth reading.
