The story of Beatrice and Isabelle d'Este is one of power, decadance, and
control set against the artistic and political changes taking place during
Renaissance Italy. This makes the book interesting and enjoyable. In addition,
the excerpts from Da Vinci's notebooks and the information about the art
produced during this time are fascinating.
