The Holocaust is not usually subject matter that people WANT to read
about, but this book is written in a way that will get you through it.
Each disturbing chapter is quickly followed by a chapter about
present-day characters, so that it's possible to go on reading. The book
is really well-written and keeps your interest. I didn't give it a
5-star rating, though, because I felt like the author really jammed down
the readers' throats the fact that most people were unaware that Jews
were deported from Paris. She must have mentioned that at least 20 times
in the first half of the book alone. But all in all, it's a great book.
Put it on your must-read list!
