Unpopular in life, Marie Antoinette continues to fascinate even in death. No, she never said, "Let them eat cake." (Qu'ils mangent de la brioche.); her predecessor did. These academic essays examine the images of Marie Antoinette in art, pornography, letters, political scandals, and history. Not an easy read, it is a very interesting look at a very public woman who is still an enigma.
