There is a part in the book where August tells Jacob that everything is an illusion. And that is what I will remember most from this book. It's all an illusion, the exotic, the mystery, the glamour. This was a gritty, powerful book, full of characters who will leave a lasting impression on you. And just in case you decide to skip this book but find yourself on some summer midway be it a circus, fair or carnival...DON'T DRINK THE LEMONADE!!!
