This was one of the most challenging books that I have read in a long time. In some parts, it was very DRY, almost a bit boring, but if you can get past these parts, you will discover some treasures and witness the conversion of a man who was terrified of Catholicism and Religious life and became one of the Church's greatest teachers. The book is raw and honest, and leaves the reader in wonder and awe over the great faith of Thomas Merton. This was a most inspiring book.
