Sarah's Key

Author: Tatiana De Rosnay
Stars: 4
Review by: Kate

Very good book. While researching the roundup of Jews by the French Vichy government in 1942, Julia Jarmond is surprised to learn that she has something in common with one of the children - a 10 year old girl destined for Auschwitz. Julia becomes focused on unraveling Sarah's story and attempting to right a 60 year old wrong. De Rosnay does a good job of weaving the two stories together, and although I thought Julia's marital problems became tedious at times, the end result is a story that is both heartbreaking and touching. Worth reading; it's a story that will stay with you. Keep the tissues close.
