High Latitudes: An Arctic Journey

Author: Farley Mowat
Stars: 5
Review by: TooManyBooksTooLittleTime

This is the story of the journey Farley Mowat took across Northern Canada- across the top of the world. He has brought to life the plight of the various Inuit and Indian tribes as the people in Ottawa make decisions to move them, rule them, and destroy their way of life. It is one of the most interesting and moving books I have ever read. About a way of life that is being changed forever, with their language and culture being bred out of them. This was written in 1966, things could only have gotten worse with time and globing warming.
