Everyday Biblical Literacy

Author: J. Stephen Lang
Stars: 2
Review by: MandyApgar

A dictionary of Biblical personages and concepts that have become mainstream to popular culture, meant as a sort of "that's what that means" sort of book. It is fairly comprehensive but pretentious at times - the author proudly claims on the back jacket that by reading about the Babylonians one can know the mindset of Saddam Hussein. And he had a tendency to down talk persons from other faiths a little, plus I found a few mistakes here and there. Nothing too big though. The selection of entries was chosen well however and he had a very effective writing style.
